Over-The-Wheel Batt Adaptor Kit with 5 Batts

Do you have a pottery wheel with NO batt pin bolts?  Would you like to use throwing batts to create wide based items like plates, bowls and planters? Or even use a Giffin Grip on your wheel? Our 'Over-the-Wheel Batt Adaptor' is designed to help you do all of that!

There is no need to drill your wheelhead or throw a pad of clay to attach batts to your wheel. Just wet the Batt Rug, lay it flat on the wheel, put the Batt Adaptor on top, and secure your Throwing Batt onto the batt pins.

The Batt Adaptor Kit comes fitted with two pairs of pre-drilled inserts for you to screw the batt pin bolts into. This will enable you to attach Throwing Batts, Batt Systems or even a Giffin Grip to your wheel. 

Choose the same size product as your own wheel and we will make it to fit. If your wheel size is not listed, select our 'Bespoke' option.

BATT ADAPTOR THROWING KITS

All kits include five x Premium MDF Throwing Batts featuring our 'Invisible Batt Pin' design.  Made from 9mm thickness premium MDF, with 10mm batt pin holes drilled only half way through. This means that the bolts will be concealed under the batt, and you will not get bolt indentations on the base of your clay body.

KIT 1 

Choose this kit if your wheel is 300mm diameter. 

Kit 1 includes

1 x Batt Adaptor made to fit a 300mm diameter pottery wheelhead.
1 x Stay-Put Batt Rug.
1 x Set of Batt Adaptor Bolts (which will screw into the pre-drilled inserts of the Batt Adaptor). 
The Batt Adaptor is designed so you can screw the Batt Adaptor Bolts in at either 250mm OR 254mm centres.  
5 x Premium Throwing Batts. 300mm diameter with 10mm batt pin holes drilled only half way through at 254mm centres (made from 9mm thickness MDF).  

The Batt Adaptor is designed to slot onto and around your wheelhead. The external surface diameter of the master batt is 22mm bigger than your wheelhead. (For a wheel that is 300mm diameter, the Batt Adaptor will measure 322mm diameter).

KIT 2 

Choose this kit if your wheel is 350mm diameter.

Kit 2 includes

1 x Batt Adaptor made to fit a 350mm diameter pottery wheelhead.
1 x Stay-Put Batt Rug.
1 x Set of Batt Adaptor Bolts (which will screw into the pre-drilled inserts of the Batt Adaptor). 
The Batt Adaptor is designed so you can screw the Batt Adaptor Bolts in at either 250mm OR 254mm centres.  
5 x Premium Throwing Batts. 350mm diameter with 10mm batt pin holes drilled only half way through at 254mm centres (made from 9mm thickness MDF). 

The Batt Adaptor is designed to slot onto and around your wheelhead. The external diameter of the master batt will be 22mm bigger than your wheelhead. (For a wheel that is 350mm diameter, the Batt Adaptor will measure 372mm diameter).

MINI KIT 

Choose this kit if your wheel is 250mm diameter.

1 x Batt Adaptor made to fit a 250mm diameter pottery wheelhead.
1 x Stay-Put Batt Rug.
1 x Set of Batt Adaptor Bolts (which will screw into the pre-drilled inserts of the Batt Adaptor). 
The Batt Adaptor is designed so you can screw the Batt Adaptor Bolts in at 148mm centres.  
5 x Premium Throwing Batts. 250mm diameter, with 10mm batt pin holes drilled only half way through at 148mm centres (made from 9mm thickness MDF).  

The Batt Adaptor is designed to slot onto and around your wheelhead. The external diameter will be approximately 22mm bigger than your wheelhead measurement. So for a 250mm wheel, the diameter will be 272mm.

BESPOKE KIT 

Select this kit if your wheel size is not listed. 
Enter your own measurements in the 'Bespoke Design' box, and we'll create you a custom kit to fit your wheel.

This option includes

1 x Bespoke Size Batt Adaptor to fit your Wheelhead measurement.
1 x Stay-Put Batt Rug.
1 x Set of Batt Adaptor Bolts (which will screw into the pre-drilled inserts of the Batt Adaptor).
5 x Premium Throwing Batts with 10mm batt pin holes drilled to fit the Throwing Batts included.

The Batts supplied for bespoke adaptors will be 300mm for an adaptor that is 300mm or less, and 350mm for bespoke adaptors sized between 300mm & 350mm. Smaller designs will include smaller throwing batts (we will make them to suit your wheel). 

Our Batt Adaptors are designed to slot onto and around your wheelhead. The external diameter will be approximately 22mm bigger than your wheelhead measurement, so please check that you have room in your splash pan to accommodate them. 

HOW TO ORDER

1) Measure your wheelhead diameter using the quick video guide below.

2) Select your wheelhead diameter from the drop-down options available. 

3) If you don't see your wheelhead diameter, select the 'Bespoke Size' option and then enter your own wheelhead diameter measurement in the Bespoke Design box.

All our Over-the-Wheel Systems are specifically designed to be slightly bigger than your wheelhead measurement. This is essential in order for the master batt to go on and off easily. It is quite normal to have a millimetre or so of movement when you put your master batt on the wheel.  When the wheel starts spinning, and the wet batt rug is in place, there will be no excess movement.  This is part of the unique design.
