What Happens After You Place an Order?
You’ve measured up your equipment, found everything you need, placed your order and now you’re wondering – What’s actually happening behind the scenes? Lets break it down, step-by-step, so you can know exactly what’s happening during every stage before you receive your pottery goodies!
Placing Your Order
You browse the website, select your pottery equipment and then head to the checkout. At the checkout, you will select your shipping option, enter your name, address, email, phone number and finally select your payment method. We ask for these details for three major reasons:
- To confirm your order, provide you the details and keep you updated
- To provide them to the courier so they may contact you about delivery
- To manage duties or taxes for international orders
After you have placed your order, you should then receive an order confirmation email from us with your order number and a full list of the items you’ve ordered.
At this point, you should make sure that the items you’ve ordered are correct and that your shipping address is correct. This will ensure your order will arrive without any delays or confusion!
Your Order Enters Our Workshop
Once your order is confirmed, it enters our system and begins the workshop manufacturing process. This step depends on what you have ordered, with one of two things happening:
- items are already manufactured and on the shelf → goes straight to picking
- items need manufacturing → goes into production
If there is a small wait time for your order, this will usually be the limiting step. This is because the vast majority of our products are handcrafted by our team – we don’t mass-produce our products using automated machines. This means that each item is made by a person with care attention and experience behind every piece.
The photograph below shows the actual workshop where your pottery goodies are made. The process runs from right to left. The CNC machine cuts the items out, they are then finished in the middle area, picked and QC’s to left and then packed on the far left of the photograph.

This is a massive part of the process, but the end result speaks for itself. You’re buying something which has been handcrafted with a clear purpose by people who understand how it’s going to be used. This trade off allows for more control, a better finish and an overall better outcome when the product gets in your hands!
Picking, Quality Control and Packing
Once your equipment has been produced and finished by the team, it then moves on to picking. Your order is first picked by hand and checked against what you ordered. It then goes through quality control, where we check that the correct items are included, they match your order exactly and that they meet our high standard of quality. If something isn’t right, it doesn’t go out and must first be corrected.
After this has been completed, the order then moves through to packing. This step isn’t rushed, we package your items securely to protect your items so that they arrive to you in the same condition they left us in.
Dispatch, Tracking and Delivery
Once your items are packed, your order is booked into our shipping system. This then creates a tracking number which you will receive through our despatched email. This email confirmed that the order has been sent and provides a shipping carrier link alongside the tracking number.
From here, the courier takes over the physical delivery of your order. Depending on your location and the shipping option you selected one of two things may happen:
- The courier may contact you directly
- You may be contacted about duties or taxes for orders outside of the UK
From this point, tracking code/link will always provide you with the most accurate, up-to-date information. If you have any issues with the delivery please contact the courier, as they will be able to help with these issues.
If Something Doesn't Look Right
Thankfully, most orders glide through this process without any issues. However, if something doesn’t look right at any stage, contact us and we will deal with it.
