Product Details

• Our Invisible Throwing Batt - but for smaller wheels (like the Shimpo Aspire RK5T & the Speedball Artisa).
• Designed to fit pottery wheels with batt pin bolts in the wheelhead.  These batts come with batt pin bolt holes drilled to fit over your batt pin bolts.  However, they are only drilled half way through the batt - meaning that the bolt is 'hidden'.  This means you don't get batt pin bolt marks in the base of your pottery.  With this design of Batt you can  throw on the whole area of the Batt and achieve a totally flat smooth base with NO Batt pin marks.
• Manufactured using our 9mm Premium MDF material. This material has superior water and warp resistance quality, leaving your pottery with a super smooth base.
• We precision drill one slotted hole, and one round hole (as shown on the photos). This will ensure a great fit on your wheel, and accommodates any slight variations in measurements.

As a guide, the Shimpo Aspire RK-5T pottery wheel usually has a 178mm wheelhead with 10mm batt pins located at 148mm centres. However, due to the gap between the edge of the wheelead, and the splash pan, a batt diameter of 250mm is recommended. This will increase the throwable space you have on your wheel and also ensure that you do not get water overflowing your splash pan. 

The Speedball Artisa pottery wheel usually has a wheelhead diameter of 279mm (11 inches) with batt pins located at  254mm (10 inches).

How to look after this product:

• Please do not leave soaking in water.  This can cause swelling or warping.
• Please do not dry on a direct source of heat such as a kiln or a radiator. This can cause warping.
• To clean just wipe with a damp sponge to remove any clay.
• Remove the batts from wheel when not in use. 
• Dry vertically. 
• Once completely dry, can be stacked on top of each other.
• Do not use metal scourers or screwdrivers on these batts as this can damage the protective laminate layer, and cause damage to your batt.
